A Little better picture of Red-winged Blackbird

The House Finches are enjoying the Hummingbird feeder as well!

A lot of people do not like the Red-Winged Blackbird, but they are interesting to watch! Very territorial. The Males are often sitting at different area's keeping guard where they are nesting. They are very vocal and have several different warning calls when something they don't like approaches their territory. I'm sharing a link that has the different sounds they make.

First time I have seen a Green Heron! Very pretty bird!

He spotted me peeking at him out the window.

This looks like one angry bird!

Last year the Red Breasted Nuthatch stayed around all winter, they did not this past winter. This one showed up yesterday...was so happy to see him at my feeder! 

First Robin picture of 2015. I actually spotted one a couple of days ago...but finally got around to getting a picture yesterday. Great to see them back...and it sure doesn't take long for them to figure out what house has the raisins! :)

To me,,,it looks like the female Sparrow in the middle is scolding the male House Finch and male Sparrow :) 

So lucky to see the pair together!

Our Saturday drive last week was well worth it when we saw this beauty!

Cardinals have been coming to feeder in the evening and early mornings...makes the light hard to get a good picture of them :(

Red Bellied Woodpecker. You can see some red on the lower part of it's abdomen. A fun bird to watch. They love the high protein suet in the winter.

Brrrrr,,, Hello Winter!!

Female Downy Woodpecker...lacks the red spot on back of her head the male has!

Spotted this bird out my window the other morning...thought it was very weird looking...and thought..kind of looks like a Starling...but kind of doesn't! So had to go in search of  It is a Starling but in it's Non breeding state. Guess I didn't realize they had that many spots in the winter!!

We had crazy wind in our area yesterday. Took a drive over to Lake Michigan in Sheboygan to get pictures of the waves. It was too hard to even stand, much less take pictures!! Here are a few that I did manage to get.

I have a pretty good imagination...:) To me there seems to be a face forming in the mist on top of the waves.

Maybe, just maybe...If I sit here all cute like this...the nice lady will throw me peanuts! 

I couldn't get lucky enough to have these two birds land on the feeder at the same time!! Put two pictures together so you can see the difference between the Hairy and Downy Woodpecker. The Hairy is a little larger and beak definitely larger. 

A few Fall pictures from a couple of weeks ago. Another year the leaves didn't change all at once :( A lot of bare and green yet when the pictures were taken.
